  • Touching T4

A concrete surface of the memorial is softly touched and caressed by the hands of six people. Every hand is touching this surface slightly differently, some are using their fingertips, others their palms.

Tactile Experience / Remembrance, 2025, during 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘭 𝘢 𝘋𝘦𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 with Saverio Cantoni & Noah Gokul & Lo Moran as part of 𝘋𝘪𝘴𝘴𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘗𝘢𝘵𝘩𝘴: 𝘞𝘢𝘭𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘛𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘴 𝘢 𝘔𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘥 curated by Cruising Curators, ReRouting and nGbK Berlin. Photos: Lucía Alfaro Valencia.

What can we learn from tracing the textures of disabled grief and remembrance? How do we build and hold transnational crip solidarities today?

The walk 𝘚𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘭 𝘢 𝘋𝘦𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 began at the T4 memorial where we got in touch with textures: glass, concrete, the dots of braille, the vibrations of a metal plate in which a speaker is embedded. Tactile sensations brought us in touch with hirstories of suffering and of resistance during and after NS euthanasia.

A group of people gathers in a half-circle at the T4 memorial with some of them standing, some sitting, one kneeling, and one leaning against a bicycle. Half of the photo has been taken through the blue surface of a glass panel. Between two blue sheets of glass, there is a gap through which the fingers of a person reach. The glass feels smooth. Two people sit on a concrete bench, and each one has one hand reaching into the space between them, where the concrete is cracked open. They are calmly exploring the crack with their fingers.
